Why it’s here
A small business has the same problems at a smaller size. Data comes in from several places and doesn’t agree. Someone has to check it before it counts. Money moves, and it has to be right. I’ve built all of that and kept it running.
What it is
dmbpostervault.com is an archive of official Dave Matthews Band concert posters, with a marketplace for buying, selling and trading them. It’s a fan project. It isn’t affiliated with the band, and the poster art belongs to the artists who made it.
What it does
- The archive. Over 2,800 posters, searchable by artist, venue, year and region. Multi-night runs and prints that cover several venues are handled properly, not squeezed into one show.
- Editions, grouped. One show can have a regular print, a foil, an artist edition and more. Each print is grouped with its editions, so every feature works on the whole family.
- Collections and wishlists. Collectors track what they own, with condition and print number, and what they’re hunting for.
- A marketplace with real money. Stripe checkout, Stripe Connect payouts to sellers, orders and disputes.
- Price history. Each print has a sales history, built from past sales and from eBay sold listings pulled in automatically.
- A review queue. People submit posters and editions. An admin reviews every one before it goes live.
The plumbing
Most of the work is behind the screen:
- Scrapers that pull listings and sales from other sites.
- Vision OCR that reads poster images and sorts them for review.
- Reconciliation tools that find duplicates and mismatches in the catalog.
- Mechanical checks that run before anything ships.
It’s built with React and Convex, with images on Cloudflare R2, email through Resend, payments through Stripe, and hosting on Vercel.
