The Walkthrough
Two sessions walking your real work. One page that says what's worth building.
Who it's for: Owners and the one finance, ops or IT person at a business of 5 to 200 people who suspect their software could be doing more.
The problem
You pay for a lot of software and can't say which part of the week it actually saves.
What I do
- Two working sessions with the people who do the work, not just the person who signs the checks. I watch the work happen.
- A walk through the checklist I use with every client, covering your systems, your exports and where data gets re-typed.
- A look at the spots where one system stops and the next one starts. That gap is usually where the hours go.
What you walk away with
- A ranked list of the workflows worth fixing, and the one I'd start on.
- What each one costs you today in hours or dollars, from the numbers you give me. I'll mark what was measured and what I estimated.
- A recommendation for each: a build, a setting you already pay for, a process change, or leave it alone.
- What a build would depend on: which systems, which exports, which exceptions still need a person.
- A fixed price for the first build, with the number we'd use to judge it.
- A straight call: go, wait, or do nothing. If nothing would pay back, the Walkthrough says so.
In scope
- Two sessions, in person around Nashville or over video.
- Two shapes, chosen on the call. If you don't know what to fix, we walk the work and rank it. If you do, both sessions go to that one problem: access confirmed, definitions written, acceptance criteria and a fixed price.
- Up to three workflows.
- The map and the price are yours to keep, whoever builds.
Not in scope
- Code or configuration changes. The Walkthrough decides what to build, it doesn't build it.
- Open-ended follow-up after the map is delivered.
- A commitment to hire me for the build.
From $750
The targeted shape is quoted on the call, before you pay. Free if you're willing to be a case-study partner.
Questions
- Do we need to be using AI already?
- No. Plenty of the best fixes are plain integrations between systems you already pay for. If AI helps, I'll say where. If it doesn't, I'll say that too.
- What do you need from us?
- About two hours from the people doing the work, read access to a few reports or exports, and someone who can tell me which systems you pay for.
- What's the difference between this and the 30-minute call?
- The call is free and decides whether there's something worth looking at. The Walkthrough is the look. It takes two sessions and ends in a ranked map and a price you can act on.
- Are we obligated to hire you for the build?
- No. The map and the price are yours. Take them to your IT person, another contractor, or build it yourself.
- We already know what we want built. Do we still need the Walkthrough?
- Usually yes, but it's shorter and it goes straight to your problem: access confirmed, definitions written, a question list and a fixed price, which you keep whoever builds. If the scope is obvious from the call, I skip it and quote directly.
