Where this comes from
At a regional brewery, one project that came up was making expense reconciliation less manual. The timing wasn’t right, and nothing got built. The same problem had come up at a grocer here. Two local businesses with the same hand work is a pattern worth building for.
What’s local about it
A Tennessee brewery answers to more than one office. The federal TTB wants its reports. The state Department of Revenue collects beer taxes. Metro’s beer permit board handles local permits, and higher-strength products bring in the Alcoholic Beverage Commission too. Each has its own forms and dates, and usually one person keeps track of all of them.
Then there’s distribution. Every distributor reports back in its own format, and someone turns it into one picture of what sold where.
Why in person helps
I’d rather see how the paperwork moves through the brewery than guess at it. I can come by this week.
